We get to know you personally to find out what is needed to restore you to better health. It’s an in-depth dive into your life to uncover the root cause of disease.
Acupuncture is capable of relieving pain, easing muscle spasm, decreasing inflammation, promoting blood circulation and boosting the body's immune system. It is an ancient and respected practice that has been around for well over 3,000 years.
Acupuncture works by using small, thin needles inserted into the skin to alter the electrical current in the body. The outcome is improved energy flow and removal of energy blocks that could be the cause of pain, discomfort, and decreased energy.
Physiatry, or rehabilitation medicine, aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life. We work specifically with individuals with physical impairments or disabilities affecting areas of the body including:
Brain
Spinal cord
Nerves
Bones
Joints
Ligaments
Muscles
Tendons
The goal of rehabilitation medicine is to improve day to day function in life. At Better Health and Rehab we do this through:
We understand the world is changing at a fast rate. To address the current challenges we are facing, virtual visits are available for most services. This is an option for those who would like to limit their potential exposure to the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and contracting COVID (Coronavirus disease).
For those who opt to come in person, please be sure to wear a mask. We are adhering to all safety measures as outlined by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and the Florida Department of Health. If you have had a fever and/or feel ill, we ask that you not come in and request a virtual visit instead.
As a life-long learner my number one question is “what’s next?” I believe in educating people about health and how best to maximize it while here on earth. You deserve to live with a quality of life free of chronic health concerns. I want to help you live in a body that allows you to do the things you enjoy. For this reason, I offer the following services for my community.
Public speaking
I offer speaking engagements with your organization or congregation about health and wellness.
Personalized health coaching
Working with an accountability partner is one way to guarantee change. I’m there for you, one-on-one, acting as your accountability partner. I help you find and lower those barriers that are preventing you from living your best life.
Pricing
Medical care can get expensive, which is why we offer a hybrid model for pricing our services.
Insurance-Based
We currently accept Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare East Standard/Tricare4Life. We are in the process of getting credentialed with other major insurance carriers. When you call, let us know your insurance carrier and we will let you know if we accept them.
It is important to note that if you have original Medicare our acupuncture services are only covered for enrollees with chronic low back pain. If you have had low back pain for at least 12 weeks, and the pain is not associated with another cause, you are entitled to 12 acupuncture sessions in a 90-day period. Medicare may pay for additional sessions if your pain decreases — up to eight more, to a maximum of 20 in a year. If your condition does not improve, Medicare will not pay for acupuncture beyond 12 visits.
Medicare Advantage private insurance plans may include broader coverage for acupuncture. Check with your Medicare Advantage plan provider about specific treatments.
Private-Pay
We want to offer value-based care that leads to better outcomes for you. To do that, we offer private-pay options for individuals whose insurance we do not currently accept. There are no hidden fees, you will know exactly what you’re getting and for how much. Pricing will be provided at the time of inquiry and taken prior to service. We hope to provide a stress-free experience while providing optimal care.
